What Is PLR?

If you surf around the web, you often hear the question “What Is PLR?”. PLR stands for Private Label Rights and, when referred to in the Internet Marketing sense, it means a certain level of rights that you have with purchased content. This content can be article packs, ebooks, reports or even videos and the rights might be different depending on who you buy them from.

Many people use PLR articles as an inexpensive way to supplement the content on their blogs and in their autoresponders. These article packs are sold to many individuals and you can usually buy them for around $1 - $2 an article, thus making it a cheaper alternative to outsourcing article writing.

What Is PLR?

Usually, PLR means that you have the right to modify the articles, or you can use them as is. You can put them on your blog, your website, in your auto responder. You can claim authorship of them and you don’t need to give credit (or a link back) to anyone. Usually you cannot resell them or submit them to article directories.

PLR is a great option if you are tired of slaving away at your keyboard to create new content. Contrary to what you might have heard, they do get listed and ranked by the search engines and, just like any other content, you should get some links to your articles to give them a bit of a boost and get them to rank for your desired keywords.

So, to answer the question “What is PLR?” – I would say it is a easy, inexpensive way to get fresh now content that your readers will love!
